Attention! This is my Meta talk page. You might reach me more readily at my Wikipedia talk page.

Maybe this is useful?

I recently started a guide called Meta:For Wikipedians. If there's anything you think should be added, feel free to do so. (BTW, I think global bans are what you are looking for -- global blocks only apply to IPs, global locks are used for abusive accounts) PiRSquared17 (talk) 02:02, 8 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

{{help me}} I fixed some links at Babel, but after that I realized I was logged out! I know policy is not for you to edit while logged out, but now I accidentally did! What do I do? Will I be blocked or banned or will the admins let this pass? (Please do, it was an accident, I was logged in at Wikipedia and accidentally thought I was logged in here too.) Hi, there's no policy against editing logged out, and no admin would ever block you for it. The problem is (e.g.) when you use an IP to vote for something and you already used your account, or if you otherwise disrupt wikis with multiple accounts. I've hidden your IP so that only admins can see it (not oversight). Really, I don't even think Wikipedia would complain about editing logged out by accident (I've done it a few times). And Meta is generally more laid-back. PiRSquared17 (talk) 00:14, 9 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

TL;DR - there's no policy against editing logged out (as long as you don't do anything disruptive)

Hello Citrusbowler,

We’re excited to invite you to an inspiring global virtual gathering: the first Capacity Exchange Translat-a-thon.

Together with Language Diversity Hub, the Capacity Exchange (CapX) team will host its first Translation Marathon dedicated to ensuring linguistic equity in access to this amazing tool aimed to connect Wikimedians.
If you enjoy contributing to Wikimedia projects through translating and adapting content into different languages, this event is for you! Join us in the celebration of the multilingual spirit of the Wikimedia Movement at an event where communities that contribute in diverse languages will be able to share local knowledge and collaborate across borders.
Many Tongues, One Movement: Voices Across Languages

  • Date: December 6, 2025
  • Time: 12 PM (UTC) - Check the event page for your local timezone
  • Location: Online (Meta-Wiki + live session links)

If you can’t join the live event, you can still contribute to the translations! Edits will be counted for two weeks, until December 20th. And everyone who participates will receive a special badge to display on their CapX profiles.

Strengthen your collaboration through CapX
