Welkom op Meta![edit]
Hallo Cumulus, en welkom op Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! Deze website is gericht op het coördineren en bespreken van alle Wikimedia-projecten. Waarschijnlijk vind je het handig om onze beleidspagina te lezen. Als je geïnteresseerd bent in het vertalen van teksten, ga dan naar Meta:Babylon. Je kunt ook een bericht achterlaten op Meta:Babel of Meta:Metapub. Lees daarbij wel de instructies aan het begin van de pagina voordat je een bericht achterlaat. Als je nog vragen hebt, stel ze me dan op mijn overlegpagina. Veel plezier met bewerken!

- It means you get to choose a different username. I use this username on the Hebrew wikipedia (+8000 edits) and on the English wikipedia. I'd like to use it with SUL on meta too. If you have less edits, please be kind and agree to use a different username on meta. Thanks. w:he:user:Cumulus

- Hello Cumulus, I would like to explain this a bit to You if You don't mind, "usurp" does not mean that You will loose Your account, just that it will be renamed, all Your contributions will remain Yours of course
- I would suggest to both "Cumulus" to have Your accounts renamed if You wish to use SUL without problems, because as You can see here there is a third user with that name and even if the nl.wiki-Cumulus would give the name to he.wiki-Cumulus there will still be the sr.wiki-Cumulus :(
- Cumulus, if You wish to have an username that is not yet taken, please check it with the sultool, if the name is still free, then You can ask for rename here on Meta at Meta:Changing username, on nl.wiki at nl:Wikipedia:Verzoek voor hernoeming van account.

- Probably I didn't express myself very well. I wanted to say that I want to keep the name "Cumulus". I use it for a long time now and it fits me best because I am specialised in meteorology. However, thanks for the explanation anyway.Cumulus 22:19, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- I understand that, I just wanted to let You know that there seems to be little chance that one of You will be able to have a working single user login with that name, and just suggested to think of another name You might like Cumulus cloud, Stabelwolk, Nimbostratus, Cumulus humilis, are just examples. Please don't understand me wrong, I don't mean to persuade You, I just wanted to let You know because the request here could have been missunderstood. Also I personally like sul and if my account would have been taken I would have considered a rename (in fact I chose another username because it was taken in Wikipedia years ago :) )

Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Cumulus. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Cumulus~metawiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
