{{no}}

I'm not sure where you got this from... it's only on certain pages where the use of {{yes}} and {{no}} is restricted to stewards, but it's fine for the steward election pages. –Juliancolton | Talk 20:49, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Is it? I always thought otherwise. Meh. Thanks for letting me know. -FASTILY (TALK) 04:52, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, not a big deal. Thanks for helping out though! Within the week the election pages will be a mess. –Juliancolton | Talk 22:30, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Hiya. Please check the comment right above your recent oppose diff regarding GR. That comment should preferably be at the very bottom, below your oppose. Thanks Kylu 03:28, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of USSR_Ethnic_Groups_1974.jpg Map - hopefully some helpful rights info

Hello

I noticed you deleted https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:USSR_Ethnic_Groups_1974.jpg as it was waiting for rights information.

I've just tracked the original file to The University of Texas Perry-Castaneda Library Map Collection

Original Image: http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/commonwealth/ussr_ethnic_1974.jpg

Linked from http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/thematic.html as [Russia] Soviet Union - Ethnic Groups from Map No. 501614 1974

In their Map FAQ

"Most of the maps scanned by the University of Texas Libraries and served from this web site are in the public domain. No permissions are needed to copy them. You may download them and use them as you wish. We appreciate credit to "University of Texas Libraries" as the source of the scanned images. A few maps are copyrighted, and are clearly marked as such. Any that are copyrighted by The University of Texas are subject to our Materials Usage Guidelines. The U.S. Government may claim copyright outside of the U.S. for maps such as nautical and aeronautical charts. We recommend that those wanting to republish these maps outside the U.S. should contact their publishers. A few maps include the official seal of a U.S. Government agency. Federal law prohibits use of these seals in connection with any merchandise, impersonation, solicitation, or commercial activity in a manner reasonably calculated to convey the impression that such use is approved, endorsed, or authorized by the agency. "

So it looks to be fine to use, but I don't know enough about wiki etiquette etc etc so thought I'd come and let you know in the hope you might reinstate it!

Global preferences ready for testing

Greetings,

I am contacting you because of your support for Global settings in the 2016 Community Tech Wishlist. Global preferences are now available for beta testing, and need your help before being released to the wikis.

  1. Read over the help page, it is brief and has screenshots
  2. Login or register an account on Beta English Wikipedia
  3. Visit Global Preferences and try enabling and disabling some settings
  4. Visit some other language and project test wikis such as English Wikivoyage, German Wiktionary, the Hebrew Wikipedia and test the settings
  5. Report your findings, experience, bugs, and other observations

Once the team has feedback on design issues, bugs, and other things that might need worked out, the problems will be addressed and global preferences will be sent to the wikis.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! Keegan (WMF) (talk) 20:13, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

Deletion of Page: Scott Hampton (racing driver)

I just logged in and discovered my article has been deleted. Do you know if the content can be recovered so that I can save it elsewhere? I didn't realize that a track champion and multi-time competitor in one of the year's most prestigious short track racing events was not notable enough to be included. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Joshhanson18 (talk) 18:08, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Next steps for the wish “confirmation prompt for the rollback link”

Logo Feedback round in the Technical Wishes project.png

Hello, a while ago you participated in a feedback round about a proposal how accidental clicks on the rollback link could be avoided. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and ideas!
Looking at the feedback and the rollback situation in different wikis, the development team decided how to approach this wish: As a default, most wikis won’t have a confirmation. But users who wish to have one, can enable it in their preferences, which will add a confirmation prompt to the rollback link on the diff page and on the list pages. The prompt won’t be a pop-up, but an inline prompt like for the thanks confirmation. You can read more about the planned solution and what influenced this decision on the project page. -- Best, Johanna Strodt (WMDE) (talk) 09:38, 16 July 2018 (UTC)

The Community Wishlist Survey

Hi,

You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.

You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:25, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
