Hello, Gnom. We received a reply, please see here. I am still digesting it, as it is more detailed than I would have expected from an official WMF person.
Also, I apologize (and should have done so earlier) if I caused offense or confusion by adding my enquiries to yours. I didn't intend to muddy the waters when asking about sustainability investing versus social impact/activist investing. My real concern was probably better expressed by your initial question, i.e. are Wikimedia Endowment funds being invested exclusively on risk/return criteria. I have wondered about this for a long time, and was so happy to see that someone else wanted to know (whether or not you support ESG investing) that I jumped in.
