New community space for IdeaLab on Connect

[edit]

Hi folks. If you're receiving this message, you've contributed to IdeaLab or an Inspire Campaign this year. Thanks for participating to develop ideas and review ones from other Wikimedians.

We are preparing some changes to IdeaLab and Inspire Campaigns. One of these changes is a new community space on Connect, where Wikimedians can find each other based on common activities or skills, and ask questions about the space. You are invited to join this community space for IdeaLab, especially if you would ever consider needing to find contributors with certain skills (like design or project management) or would like to offer your skills to others in our movement. To join, please proceed to Connect/IdeaLab and click on the "Add yourself" button on the right. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) 19:53, 21 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Inspire Campaign on Measuring Community Health

[edit]

Do you have an idea about how to measure the health of your community? Do you want to review ideas that others have submitted? Through August 10th, we are inviting ideas on how to capture the well-being of Wikimedia communities, in terms of matters like conflict resolution, effective content creation, and being able to contribute in a collaborative environment. Ideas can be focused on either quantitative techniques, such as gathering raw data, or qualitative techniques, like surveying contributors. If you are submitting an idea, guidance is available for how to move your idea into implementation, such as through a grant or starting a Phabricator task to engage with developers.

If you're interested, consider joining the Inspire Campaign. I JethroBT (WMF) 17:13, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your submission to the WikiArabia 2022 UAE

[edit]

Thank you for the importance that you have given to our event, and thank you for your submission. I would like to ask you to fill this form too please.-- Reda Kerbouche (talk) 16:44, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Reda Kerbouche, Sure I'll submit the above form :) In the same form I'm wondering about the question under Section sans titre which is "Have you attended other international or regional Wikimedia events, such as Wikimedia Conference or Wikimania or WikiIndaba or WikiArabia?" Does this also include Wikimedia Hackathon (International) or its not included? Gopavasanth (talk) 16:24, 8 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes you are right, you can put all the information that you have participated before. and an other thing, can you in the page of your submission, add the attended outcomes from the presentation?.--Reda Kerbouche (talk) 16:30, 8 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hey @Reda Kerbouche Sure I'll add the outcomes from the presentation shortly, Also in the above question - "Have you attended other international or regional Wikimedia events, such as Wikimedia Conference or Wikimania or WikiIndaba or WikiArabia?", it is a Yes/No type question, So I'm unsure what to opt as I've attended few local events and one International Wikimedia Hackathon (2019 at Prague). Gopavasanth (talk) 17:04, 8 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Here you are free to write what you want. you can write with conférence that you have attended, or just a text saying "I have been in 10 Wikimedia conferences around the glob". this is as an example. if you have other questions please don't hesitate.--Reda Kerbouche (talk) 18:12, 8 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Reda Kerbouche, Submitted above application and updated the attended outcomes in my submission :) Gopavasanth (talk) 06:24, 11 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Expression of Interest: Advanced Train the Trainer (ATTT) 2025

[edit]

Dear User,

I hope you are doing well. We are pleased to inform you that the Open Knowledge Initiative team at IIIT-H is organising an event called Advanced Train the Trainer. The Expression of Interest is already open for submissions, and we encourage you to apply if you are interested or haven't applied yet. The deadline to submit your Expression of Interest has been extended until 26 August. The Advanced Train the Trainer (ATTT) 2025 will be held on 10, 11, and 12 October 2025 at IIIT-Hyderabad. Wikimedians from India will be a part of the event.

ATTT is designed for experienced Wikimedians, particularly those who have previously participated in Train the Trainer. The program aims to develop further their leadership, thematic expertise, and practical application skills. The training will be conducted in two thematic tracks:

  • Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling – Learn to measure, analyse, and narrate the impact of Wikimedia initiatives through hands-on labs and peer feedback.
  • Project Design: From Learning to Action – Work on a 3-month project with mentoring and planning tools, turning learning into impactful, context-driven initiatives.

Note: If you are unsure about which track to choose, please still submit your application by answering the questions thoroughly. Our team will review it and assign you to the most suitable track. If you are not comfortable applying directly on Meta, you may send your proposal (using the Meta template and with a valid reason) to nitesh@research.iiit.ac.in. If selected, the OKI team will publish it on Meta on your behalf.

We look forward to receiving your applications and working together to shape impactful Wikimedia leadership!

Regards,

Open Knowledge Initiatives Team
