UserGroupへの参加と、理事会選挙について

GreatPatentさん、お世話になります。Wikimedians of Japan User GroupのVZP10224です。User Groupへサポーターとしての参加、ありがとうございます。また、理事会選挙への立候補の文書作成、お疲れ様でございました。 さて、財団理事への立候補をされるということで、少し調査をさせていただいたのですが、こちらのアカウントGreatPatent (talk · contribs)(グローバルアカウント情報)以外に、PatentAttorneyJP (talk · contribs)（グローバルアカウント情報）とMakoto Koike, Ph.D. (talk · contribs)(グローバルアカウント情報)のユーザーを過去に作成されていたとのことでこちらは理解しています。またどちらもウィキペディア日本語版ではそれなりに投稿履歴があるようですが、こちらについてアカウントにアクセスできなかったためとの趣旨で発言されておられます。ただ、具体的にアカウントにアクセスできなかった、というのがいま一つ理解できず、具体的にどのような状況だったのかをご教示いただくことは可能でしょうか。本業などありお忙しいことは承知しておりますが、ご回答いただけると助かります。--VZP10224(WjpUG) (talk) 10:54, 8 July 2025 (UTC)

昨今、多種多様なネットサービスでパスワードを求められ、更に同じパスワードを使いまわしてはいけないとされています。そこで、ウィキペディアにはウィキペディアのパスワードを使い、電子メールでは別個のパスワードを使い、ファイスブックではフェイスブックのパスワードを使い、リンクトインではリンクトインのパスワードを使い、というようなことになったのですが、しばらくアクセスしていないとパスワードを失念することがあります。

例えば、今日、リンクトインに久しぶりにアクセスしたのですが、パスワードは覚えていないので、再発行しています。

ところが、ウィキペディアはなぜかセキュリティが厳しいときがあります。2度か3度かパスワードを間違えると、アクセス拒否され、その後、パスワード再発行をお願いしても、再発行がされないか、再発行する以前で拒否されることがあります。確か、ウィキペディアでは、パスワードだけでなく、なにかアルファベットを数文字、入力してようやくアクセスできる、というようなことになることがあります。

通常のネットサービスでは、事前に登録された電子メールアドレスが一致したときには、あっさりとパスワードが再発行されるのですが、そのような仕様になっていないようです。そのうちにウィキペディアにそもそもアクセスしない、ということになります。 GreatPatent (talk) 12:00, 8 July 2025 (UTC)

Invitation to Serve as a Judge for the Wikimania Poster Session

My name is Victoria Doronina, and I am a part of the organising team for the Wikimania 2025 Poster Session. I'm inviting you to serve as a judge for the Poster Session at Wikimania 2025. As someone deeply engaged in the Wikimedia movement and currently a candidate for the Board of Trustees, your insights and experience would bring tremendous value to the evaluation of this year’s posters.

The judging process would involve reviewing posters online and providing a score. You can score as many posters as you have time for.

We would be honoured if you could join us in recognising and encouraging the innovative work of Wikimedians from around the world. Thank you very much for your kind invitation to serve as a judge for the Wikimania 2025 Poster Session. I am honored by the recognition and appreciate you considering me for such an important role.

I am certainly interested in participating, as I believe it's a valuable way to contribute to the Wikimedia movement. However, my ability to join will depend on whether travel expenses, specifically transportation and hotel accommodation, can be covered.

If these costs can be supported, I would be very happy to accept your invitation. On the other hand, if participation requires me to cover all expenses myself, I regret that I would have to decline.

Please let me know if there's a possibility of sponsorship for these expenses.

On a separate but important note, upon reviewing my travel documents in preparation, to my surprise, I have discovered that my passport has expired.  A typical period for processing a new passport application suggests that it would not be issued in time for me to attend Wikimania 2025, even if I were to apply immediately. This is an unforeseen circumstance that foregoes my potential attendance.
