Hello Iwai-Dialax,
We’re excited to invite you to an inspiring global virtual gathering: the first Capacity Exchange Translat-a-thon.
Together with Language Diversity Hub, the Capacity Exchange (CapX) team will host its first Translation Marathon dedicated to ensuring linguistic equity in access to this amazing tool aimed to connect Wikimedians.
If you enjoy contributing to Wikimedia projects through translating and adapting content into different languages, this event is for you! Join us in the celebration of the multilingual spirit of the Wikimedia Movement at an event where communities that contribute in diverse languages will be able to share local knowledge and collaborate across borders.

Request for Extension of Reporting Deadline – Rites & Rituals of the Niger Delta Project (Wiki Loves Africa 2026)

I hope you are doing well.
I am writing on behalf of the Wikimedia Niger Delta Community regarding the reporting requirements for our project, "Rites and Rituals of the Niger Delta," implemented under the Wiki Loves Africa 2026 campaign. We would like to respectfully request a one-month extension of the reporting deadline due to challenges encountered during the photo evaluation process. Specifically, the jury has experienced persistent difficulties with the Montage photo evaluation tool, which has significantly affected their ability to review, assess, and complete the judging process within the current reporting timeline. As the quality and integrity of the evaluation process are important to us, the jury has made every effort to continue its work despite these technical constraints. However, the malfunction and instability of the tool have resulted in delays that are beyond the control of the organizing team and jury members. To ensure a thorough, fair, and complete evaluation of submissions, as well as the preparation of a comprehensive final report that accurately reflects the outcomes and impact of the project, we kindly request an extension of the reporting deadline by one month. This additional time will enable the jury to conclude the evaluation process properly and allow the project team to compile and submit a detailed and accurate report in line with Wikimedia Foundation expectations. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and consideration of this request. Thank you for your continued support of community-led initiatives and for the opportunity to contribute to the documentation and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the Niger Delta through Wikimedia projects.
