Beste JLetang (WMF),

wikimania 2020

[edit]

Hi. I saw the announcement in wikimania-L. As one of the current 'crats and admins tending wikimania:wiki is there a name of a person or two for whom I should be looking out for? Thinking through that we probably want to start some of the preliminaries at the site, a simple announcement of the event, dates, and we should also consider when we need to look to the creation of a 2020: namespace. Ping me here, or if you consider more appropriate ping me at wikimania:user talk:billinghurst. I am more the back-of-house operator so happy to just bumble/bubble things along.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:21, 12 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! user:Athikhun.suw is one of the liaisons for ESEAP. Please do speak to him in this regard. Thanks :) JLetang (WMF) (talk) 06:58, 18 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Firm

[edit]

Hi :) I noticed that maybe there is a small typo in the firm because I noticed User:JLetang(WMF) vs User:JLetang (WMF) in Talk:Wikimania 2021/Call for participation but I'm not sure. Can I help in any way? (I think that MediaWiki is not that friendly but don't say it around... ihih) --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 16:27, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oh gosh! Thanks for catching this! I went ahead and just fixed it, as it was a typo from my end indeed. I'll make sure to shoot you an email in a bit! Thanks so much User:JLetang(WMF)
I've received your kind email! Thank you again :) Can't wait to be helpful! Cheers --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 18:11, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wikimania 2021, last survey: can we migrate to LimeSurvey?

[edit]

Hi! How are you? I write to you because I was able to collaborate with Elfego Solares to migrate the online Wikimania 2021 questionnaires from Google Form (proprietary software) to LimeSurvey (Free/Libre and Open Source). I think they were 3 questionnaires migrated successfully. But now I've seen a new questionnaire made with Qualtrics (proprietary) that has just been announced and I would love to help in migrating that as well to LimeSurvey (but I honestly would like to help in converting any future questionnaire). I'd also like to grant you access to our new platform Wikimedia Italia/LimeSurvey so you can be independent in this, although I can give all the required volunteer support and is therefore not an added workload for you. Green light? Available for any clarification. --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 15:11, 18 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Valerio! I am good, and hope you are too! Thanks for the question, and please allow me to clarify. While LimeSurvey has been used in the past for surveys run by volunteers, for surveys created and used by the Wikimedia Foundation we have to use survey tools that have been vetted by our Legal department, which Qualtrics is. LimeSurvey unfortunately has not been vetted by our Legal team, but we can look at it again for next year. Thank you! JLetang (WMF) (talk) 22:05, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
