West Bengal Wikimedians User Group held its 2024 Annual General Meeting yesterday

We would like to inform you that the user group has organized its 2024 Annual General Meeting of Representative Members yesterday at the Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, Kolkata. In this meeting, we have adopted revised bylaws based on the feedback and suggestions coming from our members (see changes) and selected 10 new Representative Members based on the objective criteria set in the bylaws with regards to their recent or overall online and offline contributions. A new Representative Committee has also been formed while replacing 3 out of 5 members, who have completed their full term tenure for this responsibility. The participants have also shared learning from the projects taken from previous year and shared plans about new projects which they are willing to take during this year on behalf of the user group. We are also introducing a mentorship program from this year, where willing general members can work together with our program leads in user group programs and learn from each other. So, stay tuned for more excitements!

Expression of Interest: Advanced Train the Trainer (ATTT) 2025

I hope you are doing well. We are pleased to inform you that the Open Knowledge Initiative team at IIIT-H is organising an event called Advanced Train the Trainer. The Expression of Interest is already open for submissions, and we encourage you to apply if you are interested or haven't applied yet. The deadline to submit your Expression of Interest has been extended until 26 August. The Advanced Train the Trainer (ATTT) 2025 will be held on 10, 11, and 12 October 2025 at IIIT-Hyderabad. Wikimedians from India will be a part of the event.
ATTT is designed for experienced Wikimedians, particularly those who have previously participated in Train the Trainer. The program aims to develop further their leadership, thematic expertise, and practical application skills. The training will be conducted in two thematic tracks:
- Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling – Learn to measure, analyse, and narrate the impact of Wikimedia initiatives through hands-on labs and peer feedback.
- Project Design: From Learning to Action – Work on a 3-month project with mentoring and planning tools, turning learning into impactful, context-driven initiatives.

- Deadline to apply (extended): 26 August 2025
- Event Dates: 10-12 October 2025
Note: If you are unsure about which track to choose, please still submit your application by answering the questions thoroughly. Our team will review it and assign you to the most suitable track.
