Question about FDC process

Hi Kirill, I'm reaching out to you as FDC Ombudsperson not with a complaint but a question (which is why I'm putting this on your talk page rather than the complaints page... if there's another place I should put this, please let me know). I had posted some questions on the talk page of the staff assessment of our grant proposal a week ago, but haven't heard anything back. Obviously the FDC recommendation has already happened, but I remain confused by the staff assessment and would still like to better understand it, so we can figure out next steps as we execute on our plan. I'm unsure of the process since this is our first time through, and I couldn't find it on any documentation page, so I thought you'd be the person to ask: Is there a timeline for when staff will respond to questions? Is there a better place to post them? In other words, how can we get clarification on the things we don't understand about the assessment, so we can be sure we understand the recommendations within it? Thanks for any guidance you can offer! --LiAnna (Wiki Ed) (talk) 01:32, 22 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi LiAnna (Wiki Ed)! As far as I'm aware, the formal FDC process does not include any requirement that staff respond to questions or comments regarding the staff assessment. Further, looking back over the staff assessments from the previous few funding rounds, I can't find any case where an applicant organization that posted such questions or comments received a substantive response, except in cases where applicants identified simple errors in the assessment text. KLove (WMF), has the process ever included an expectation that staff would continue engage with applicants once the staff assessments had been published? That's helpful to know, thanks, Kirill — perhaps as feedback from a first-timer on the FDC process, I'd definitely recommend this to be integrated in. It's really hard to make changes to your plan in response to staff assessments if you don't understand the feedback and there's no opportunity to get clarification. :/ --LiAnna (Wiki Ed) (talk) 05:04, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi LiAnna (Wiki Ed), hi Kirill Lokshin! I have seen this discussion, thanks for bringing me in! Delphine, as the program officer overseeing the program, is best placed to respond. I believe she is traveling today, so please give us a few days to respond. Cheers, and Happy Thanksgiving! KLove (WMF) (talk) 16:44, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
Just noting here that Delphine has responded in more depth to the response WikiEd posted on the talk page of the staff assessment. KLove (WMF) (talk) 05:36, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
