Talk page deletion

[edit]

Hi, we don't generally move entire talk pages and their history just for the sake of it on MediaWiki.org, hence you're warmly encouraged not to satisfy deletion requests such as [1]. An actual rationale is needed to delete a talk page, other than "I like it". Nemo 06:58, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sure. It's just easy to miss that deleting a redirect, and even more creating a Flow header, is a destructive action: a normal editor can't (or can't easily) undo such a conversion. Nemo 13:33, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Presenting Community Engagement Insights survey report: Tuesday, October 10, 1600 UTC

[edit]

Hi Mainframe98,
I am reaching out to you because you signed up to receive updates about the Global Wikimedia survey.[1]

We will be hosting a public event online to present the data, a few examples on how teams will be using it for annual planning, and what are next steps for this project. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 10, at 9:00 am PST (1600 UTC), and the presentation will be in English. You can watch the livestream here, and ask question via IRC on #wikimedia-office.

If you are unable attend, you can also find the report on meta, and watch the recording of the event at a later time.

We hope to have you join us online! -- María Cruz 23:28, 2 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Toch heeft u een behoorlijke vertaling opgeleverd met weliswaar wat foutjes die ik vanmorgen even heb weggewerkt als u mij niet kwalijk neemt. Wat me m.n. intrigeert is uw schulnaam. Heeft u net als ik (tot rond 2007 of zo) ook met mainframe gewerkt? Misschien nu nog in uw geval?

let's chat Is the problem of central unified login authorization?

[edit]

I have been involved since 2020Global layout integration work Unified login Global preferences for each project How to use each lookup When the symbol is marked, it will be hyperlink take to another project The settings of the mobile device have to be in that position again set once,I'm just a newbie more often just reading Have you considered that many people are visiting for the first time?Visitors who are just registered and do not have an email linked even more But because it is often IP Ban affects,Ban on a block No matter how many times it rings, there is always only one ISP configuration unique address that cannot be changed(IP4&IP6)cannot be changed Notifications also set global cross-wiki notifications also invalid Can it be integrated and then get other extensions?I will not comment on whether the extension is useful or not I am currently around Web page UI&UX Basic Visitor's Viewpoint Re-set preferences every time The convenient function of authorization of unified login is reflected in that seat meta wiki Wikicommons Wikidata Wikimedia Foundation None of the three belong to the same domain That's why you need to set the preferences for global login But it doesn't work 、Would you like to see the screenshots I've collected? After reading it, it should be easier for you to know the main point I am expressingJc.Msndy(discussion←°°or use this notification me°°→email) 17:49, 30 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Updates from Capacity Exchange (CapX)!

[edit]

Hello Mainframe98,

My name is Joris Darlington Quarshie, and I am an Outreach Facilitator for the Capacity Exchange (CapX) — a platform for finding and connecting with peers to exchange knowledge and skills on a global level.

CapX is a community-built tool, designed by and for the Wikimedia Movement, to make it easier for Wikimedians across the world to find and connect, collaborate, and exchange skills and knowledge with peers.

If you don't know it yet, I invite you to access capx.toolforge.org and create your user profile with your Wikimedia account. But, if you already have a profile, I invite you to check out the new features and possibilities we just launched. I am sure you will be delighted.

CapX's new version incorporates valuable community feedback gathered over the past months, including the Organization Profile - a feature for Wikimedia affiliates, initiatives, or community groups to create their own CapX presence (see here how to create yours).

Click to log in using your Wikimedia unified account through authentication:

[edit]

Hello Mainframe98,

We’re excited to invite you to an inspiring global virtual gathering: the first Capacity Exchange Translat-a-thon.

Together with Language Diversity Hub, the Capacity Exchange (CapX) team will host its first Translation Marathon dedicated to ensuring linguistic equity in access to this amazing tool aimed to connect Wikimedians.
If you enjoy contributing to Wikimedia projects through translating and adapting content into different languages, this event is for you! Join us in the celebration of the multilingual spirit of the Wikimedia Movement at an event where communities that contribute in diverse languages will be able to share local knowledge and collaborate across borders.
Many Tongues, One Movement: Voices Across Languages

  • Date: December 6, 2025
  • Time: 12 PM (UTC) - Check the event page for your local timezone
