Wikimedia Hackathon Northwestern Europe 2026
Hello! I came across your name on a previous Wikimedia hackathon participant page, so I thought you might be interested in this.
We're organizing the Wikimedia Hackathon Northwestern Europe 2026, taking place on 13–14 March 2026 in Arnhem, the Netherlands. It's a two-day, in-person hackathon for technical Wikimedians from the region.
Since you've attended a hackathon before, you already know how valuable these events can be for collaboration, learning, and getting things done together. We'd love to have you join us!
Apply here – registration closes mid-January or when full.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Hope to see you in Arnhem! Daanvr (talk) 17:49, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
The National Library of the Czech Republic
I asked to access the collection. The WL page states "only by Wikipedians from the Czech Republic", but the Czech page states "podmínky doložení usazenosti občanů států EU, Švýcarska, Norska, Islandu, Lichtenštejnska" (I live in Italy). They gave me a code, but I can't access it. When I click on the resource on WL I get "Not found Sorry; we can't find that". I need access to read this journal.--Carnby (talk) 07:52, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Carnby, thank you for the message! Unfortunately, I missed it. The library can create accounts for any EU citizen (plus few other states), however, it is tricky to actually verify your identity (the ideal way is to use a Czech bank account, or to visit the library's offices in person). Neither of those is practical for someone who's not a Czech resident. If you have a Qualified electronic signature set up (or if you're willing to pay the Czech embassy in Italy a visit), there should still be a way for you to get the library account (and I can provide guidance on that). Let me know whether any of those options would be possible for you. https://www.nkp.cz/sluzby/vzdalena-registrace is the official docs on the library's side. - Hi, I was able to get the paper through Resource Request. I think that remote registration is quite complicated, I would be happy if you manage to cancel my subscription to the National Library of the Czech Republic.--Carnby (talk) 05:20, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
