About usurps

I just tried to create a (legitimate) sock account to do some actions on ptwiki. I'd use it to test bot edits (and maybe turn it into a proper bot), and perform some other actions in the mean time. The username I wanted to use is "Gottert", but it seems there's already an account called "Göttert" with an umlaut. This account has never edited anything, not even in their homewiki, for almost 12 years.

I want to know if there's a possibility of usurpations without it being a rename, and for a secondary account. I did not place the request there because I think it'll be refuse, but I'm asking you anyways just in case. Cheers. If you reply this, please mention me, so I get notified cross-wiki. @Eduardo Gottert If you can register an account with the username "Gottert," feel free to proceed, as I don't see any issues with it. Hey, @MdsShakil! I saw you are a global sysop. I tried placing the request at SRUC, and got permanently blocked from metawiki by abuse filter 370. Get started with the Lua interface to simplify the preparation of modules for translation in MetaWiki

Greetings!

The Language and Product Localization team has developed a Lua interface to simplify the preparation of Lua modules for translation in the MetaWiki platform. This means that module developers can now use the new Lua interface to load translatable strings, and the translators can translate them in the same translation interface that is used for templates and wiki pages.

This improvement makes it easier for translators to find and edit module strings without dealing with raw Lua code. It helps prevent mistakes that could break the module during translation.

We invite you to watch our demo video and read more about translatable modules to understand how it works. Please give us your feedback on this talk page on how well the Lua interface addresses the challenges in your workflow and how useful it is in module localization tasks. You can also refer to Module:User Wikimedia project, which was recently converted to utilize these messages, for example usage.

Your feedback is important as it will help us evaluate and decide how to continue developing and improving this interface, extend it to other wikis, or change our approach.

@Rei Momo Hey, I’m not sure about the exact block details, but I’m certain your account isn’t blocked. It looks like you are affected by a open proxy IP block. Try turning off your proxy, that should let you edit without any problems. —MdsShakil (talk) 09:17, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

@Rei Momo Could you please turn off the proxy, if possible? If you need to use the proxy, please let us know the reason so we can add an exception to your account. I cannot take off the proxy because I work with it, utnill 5,00 p.m. and I take the laptop home for smart working. This is the reason because I use too much my work laptop for quite whole day also home.
