Barua ya Jimmy Wales

[edit]

Salaam, Limoke!

Sisi ni shirika dogo, na nimejizatiti kwa miaka kuhakiksha and I've worked hard over the years to keep us lean and tight.

Sikudhani ingetokea vibaya hivyo.Ni sawa twawe kutumia makala ya majadilaiano.Kutafsiri kidogo kumenipiga chenga.Nmetumia staili ya Kingerea moja ka moja...:-) Mpmayenge 13:40, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Haina shida. Ni mawazo tu - kaka. Nitaweka barua ile nikifika home. Hapana sina - hadi nikiwa nyumbani ndiyo ninaweza kwa sababu nimeihifadhia kule! Ahsante kwa kusikia wito!--Wikipedian (Activist) 16:09, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

A barnstar for you!

This barnstar is given to you for your help with the 2011 fundraiser translation.
This barnstar is given to you for your help with the 2011 fundraiser translation.

Hi! I just want to thank you and give you this barnstar for your help with the translation of the 2011 fundraiser! The fundraiser was the best we ever had, both in terms of the amount we collected and in terms of number of translations. We couldn't have done either one without the help we got from you and other translators. If you are interested, we made a report, which has some statistics about the translations.

And: I have one more request, and that is that you take this survey. You may have got an e-mail about it, and if you did, please ignore this. But if you didn't it would be great if you would take this survey too, so we can learn to improve the translation experience.

Again, thanks for your help with translations – you're awesome! Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 14:27, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Kenyan Wikipedian Stories

[edit]

Hi!

My name is Victor Grigas and I'm a storyteller with the Wikimedia Foundation in San Francisco. I'm chronicling the inspiring stories of the Wikipedia community from around the world. Stories are critical to inform and inspire the general public to support the Wikipedia movement by donating their money or to become volunteers themselves.

After seeing this inspiring story about Kenya's very own Gabriel Nderitu -

http://newsfeed.time.com/2010/10/26/kenyan-man-builds-airplane-in-yard-based-mostly-on-wikipedia-entries/

and hearing about the 'Project for Kenyan Schools', I thought that it might be fruitful to plan a trip to Kenya to interview Kenyan Wikipedians face-to-face.

I would need to confirm that I have at least 15 people to speak with who may have interesting stories about Wikipedia to make the trip worth the money. If needed, I could hire a translator. My understanding is that iHub in Nairobi hosts Wiki-meetups once a month. It may be feasible to attend a meetup there and interview people individually after that?

Please let me know what you think, I would very much like the opportunity to represent Wikimedia Kenya in the fundraiser this year.

I am sending this message to everyone I can reach at Wikimedia Kenya. Please let me know if there is a more formalized process to reach people.

Thank you for your time,

Victor Grigas
