Simple English Wikiversity

Hi there meuko, you did advise us to go and make up a test project on the en.wikiversity, as currently we have a test on the Beta Wikiversity going on, I cant really understand why we should do it on the en.wikiversity when its perfect for the beta one? — The preceding unsigned comment was added by SleepyMode (talk)

Hello, have you been following Proposals for closing projects/Move Beta Wikiversity to Incubator? There is a very real possibility that betawikiversity will close soon. I would not recommend wv-en so strongly if the future of beta was certain. If (when?) it closes you will have two choices: Incubator: or Wikiversity-en. Any work that you do on beta now could be interrupted by the closure. I think you will find that wv-en is a very welcoming environment. You, and other editors interested in Simple English, can take your time to demonstrate that there is an active community interested in developing these resources and we will enthusiastically support your efforts either on wv-en or on a dedicated simple.wikiversity.org site.
I think Simple English resources are a very worthwhile idea and wholly support it. It is just a question of where and when to begin. I feel that you will have a much better chance of gaining consensus for a proposal if you show some progress first. You currently have 0 active users and 6 trivial edits on beta. On wv-en we have resources like v:Basic English, v:TESOL Materials Guide, v:Physics/Simple, etc. which is a good start towards your goal. Please let me know if you would like help with this, I really do like the idea and look forward to helping make it happen. --mikeu talk 12:23, 27 January 2016 (UTC)

Wikimedian in Residence BoF at Wikimania 2017

Hello!

My name is David Alves (User:Horadrim~usurped), and I'm an Wikipedian in Residence at RIDC NeuroMat (User:Horadrim). I've reach your contact through the Wikimedian in residence page in Outreach. As you may know, Wikimania 2017 is coming! I am here because, as a fellow WiR, I believe this would be a great opportunity for us to share experiences, discuss difficulties and exchange solutions, creating a community among us capable of supporting in other projects that would benefit from residents. In that sense, I have submitted a proposal of a Birds of a Feather activity to Wikimania that you can check out here. I hope to count with your support in this project and would like to invite you to join us if you participate in Wikimania. In case of any doubts, please feel free to contact me, either in my talk pages or by e-mail at david.alves(at)outlook.com.

Thank you very much! ‎Horadrim~usurped (talk) 00:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletions

I did a speedy deletion by my personal initiative on a subpage which was a weird "study" about a socking case. I concur the subpages you tagged for speedy deletion mess up tons of socks/SPAs/random users, but this kind of list is generally allowed on meta. So I -for one- won't delete them. By the way a list doing this mess will hardly be taken into account by the "secular arm" ;) --Vituzzu (talk) 18:53, 23 December 2017 (UTC)

Steward elections

Hello, just so you're aware, you are not eligible to vote in the steward elections. You can still vote but you'll be marked as not eligible. Just thought I'd let you know now... Thanks :) --Ferien (talk) 20:22, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

@Ferien: Thanks, I removed my support. I've been on wikibreak due to the pandemic and have had few edits recently. I didn't realize the impact. --mikeu talk 02:57, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
