Wikimedians of Kerala User group Annual General Meetup 2025: You are invited 🙏

Hope this message finds you well. Wikimedians of Kerala User Group Annual General Meetup 2025 will take place on 21st December 2025 (Sunday) at Kerala Institute of Local Administration, Mulamkunnathukavu P O, Thrissur (View Map). Here is some quick important information:
- A tentative schedule of the program is published and you may see it here. There will be discussions about Annual Plan 2026, future projects etc. And also there will be reports about past major events conducted by Wikimedians of Kerala User Group.

This is the Wikimedians of Kerala UG's 22nd newsletter.
- Updates / Discussions
- On 22nd November 2025, we held our user group’s monthly meeting online via Google Meet. The agenda for the meeting was shared by Ranjithsiji and welcomed everyone to the meeting. Fifteen members attended the meeting.
- Ranjith shared updates about the Wikidata Workshop and 13th Birthday Celebration that has been happened during State of the Map Kerala 2025 event at Payyannur, Kannur.
- Manoj and Ranjith shared updates about the upcoming WikiConference Kerala 2025 which will be held on 20th December at Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA), Thrissur, Kerala.
- Ranjith shared the updates on organising the Malayalam Wikipedia 23rd Birthday Celebration along with the WCK 2025.
- Ranjith shared the invitation received on organising Wikimedia Technical Workshop at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering Kanjirappally.
- Jinoy shared the updates about the Initial discussions about WikiConference India 2026. Inviting the community members to signup and endorse the Grant proposal.
- Athul shared the plans about documenting Quantum Century Exhibition 2025 at Wikimedia Commons.
- Manoj shared the updates about 2nd edition of Wiki Loves Birds India photography campaign in Wikimedia Commons.

- Quantum Century Exhibition 2025 – A campaign to document International Year of Quantum Science & Technology on Wikimedia Commons.
- SheSaid – A campaign to celebrate leading women and their voices by encouraging the creation and improvement of Wikiquote articles that feature women’s quotations in Malayalam Wikiquote. (1st Sept – 31st Dec 2025)

This is the Wikimedians of Kerala UG's 23rd newsletter.
- User group news
- In the month of December, we did not have an online meeting as we held our AGM.
- On 5–6th December 2025, a Wikimedia Technical Workshop was conducted at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally, Kottayam.
- 52 students participated in this event and were trained on the Wikimedia ecosystem. The students presented their tools and outcomes on the last day of the event.
- User:Athulvis, User:Gnoeee, User:MatthewsM2, and User:Ranjithsiji joined the workshop as mentors.
- On 15–16th December 2025, a Wikimedia Technical Workshop was conducted at Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth - Global Campus, Piravom.
- 50 students participated in this event and received training on the Wikimedia technical ecosystem. The students worked on fixing issues and developing tools, which they presented on the last day of the event.
- User:Athulvis, User:Gnoeee, and User:Ranjithsiji from the UG attended as mentors.
- 980 contributions were made to the Wiki Loves Museums initiative from 20 November to 31 December 2025.
- On 20th December 2025, WikiConference Kerala 2025 was organised at the Kerala Institute of Local Administration, Thrissur.
- The 23rd Birthday Celebration of Malayalam Wikipedia was held during this time.
- 90+ participants attended the WCK and its sessions.
- This month, we held our 4th Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) at the Kerala Institute of Local Administration on 21st December 2025.
- Twenty-two UG members and two guests attended the meeting.
- Shared and discussed upcoming annual plans and the Wikipedia 25th Birthday celebrations.
- Discussed preparations for WikiConference India 2026. (Read the detailed report here...)
