WikiGap Challenge

[edit]

Hi! I noticed that you took part in WikiGap Challenge last year. I just wanted to inform you that we are running the Challenge this year too, to improve the representation of women on Wikipedia! For WikiGap Challenge 2020, the first prize is to go to Geneva and visit UN Human Rights. Writing one of the bonus points articles, about women active in human rights, yields double points in the competition. I hope you join this year too! WikiGap Challenge

[edit]

Hi!

Now, we have finalized the results from the WikiGap Challenge. You can find the general and top results here. I want to thank you for your contribution, which together with the other participants have created a tremendous and long lasting impact for the visibility of women on Wikipedia.

We want to give you a barnstar for your participation, to praise your efforts for a better visibility of women on Wikipedia!

We will analyze the challenge and the way it works closely, to see how we can improve it for next year. It would be very valuable for us if you wanted to share your views on the challenge, especially when it comes to: the point system, the focus, and the adding of the list from UN Human Rights. You can send your answers to eric.luth@wikimedia.se!

I hope you found the challenge exciting, and that you want to participate next year as well! For a rationale on how we finalized the points, see these words.

Many thanks for participating in the WPWP campaign.

We are glad about the level of participation, this year and we are excited to inform you that over 900 volunteers around the world added photos to more than 250,000 articles in 298 languages Wikipedia. This year, we surpassed the 2020 edition's milestone by over 170%.

We are in the process of evaluating the WPWP campaign this year and we need your help. We'd love to get your feedback. Your feedback will allow us to better meet your expectations for the campaign in the next editions.

Please complete a brief survey so that we may learn about your participation in the campaign, strengths, challenges and your expectations. This information will enable us to improve the next editions of the Campaign.

WikiGap Challenge 2022

[edit]

Hi! As one of the participants of the WikiGap Challenge 2021, I wanted to inform you that we have launched the 2022 edition of the Challenge – and you are of course more than welcome to join! The landing page of the challenge is on this page. This year, due to the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we are extending the Challenge to 8 May. I hope this might give some extra time for everyone to take part.

As last year, the UN Human Rights Office has nominated some 25 women human rights defenders, this year specifically focusing on women active within the fields of environment and climate. Writing articles about these women yield bonus points.

Feel free to join, and reach out if you have any questions! Josefine Hellroth Larsson (WMSE) (talk) 14:45, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

ESEAP Preparatory Council voting reminder, clarification, and update for community and individual seats

[edit]

Dear ESEAP Wikimedians,

This is a reminder, clarification, and update to the voting of ESEAP Preparatory Council's community seats and individual seats.

Community Seats:

  • It is important to note that individual votes are not accepted in this category, only votes casted on behalf of an ESEAP community are accepted. The votes for Community seats are exclusive to the ESEAP-verified Communities themselves.
  • Votes representing Wikimedia projects must be cast by an admin of the Wikimedia project, with a link to the discussion within the project.
  • Other votes representing communities must be casted by a leading member of the community, with a link to the discussion within the community.
  • Votes that does not meet the community seat's voting guidelines will be stricken out and not counted.
  • To learn more about the community process, please refer to the voting guidelines on this meta page.
  • Considering that there seem to be some misunderstandings of this voting category, the voting for the community seats will be extended and will end at .

Individual Seats:

The final results of all seats will be announced by 10th September 2023. We strongly encourage your participation in this voting process. If you have any questions, please leave a message on the talk page.

Kind regards,
Rachmat04, on behalf of the Process Oversight Sub-Committee, 10:31, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
