RE: request for making logo of AWWDCCW[edit]

Hello, thank you for your compliments :). Unfortunately I'm very busy in this time, so As soon as I can, i'll try to draw the logo you required. Bye--Bruce The Deus (talk) 12:35, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Bruce The Deus: Yes, I'm busy these times too, but Thanks, it will be nice of you. happy editing! TheStrayDog (talk) 18:25, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I know, I took my time but...here it is The simbol of peace mixed with the Wikimedia logo, crowned by Olive tree wreath (symbol of peace) with 7 leaf coloured with rainbow flag colours. All the shapes are rounded and soft, to symbolize the kindness and the respect your association want to bring in wiki. I hope you like it and, if you have suggestion to modify it, please tell me :)--Bruce The Deus (talk) 17:17, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your participation during the Inspire Campaign focused on outreach to outside knowledge networks from February 2017. I'm interested in hearing your experience during the campaign, so if you're able, I invite you to complete this brief survey to describe how you contributed to the campaign and how you felt about participating. I want to improve how campaigns are run, so let me know if there's something that could be done better for next time.

Please feel free to let me know on my talk page if you have any questions about the campaign or the survey. Thanks! I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 18:34, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

CheckUser investigation[edit]

Since the PersianGuyz account belongs to you, but maybe it's best not to do any more accounts. At first I was uncertain about the claims, but then I'm not so sure anymore whether to believe in those complaints. I think you are a good guy, but I don't want you to get blocked or banned in other wikis. My suggestion: may you please stay away from Arabic Wikipedia for now? Thank you. --George Ho (talk) 22:19, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@George Ho: Salute! Dear George, I am away from that project since I was blocked in many months ago. I was blocked forever and I can't be there with any account. Otherwise, the system will diagnose my IP address if even I want to access with another account, and as you know I am a professional user and since my block I have never been there and I don't have any tendency to be there anymore. I am away since a longtime ago and I have never been logged in since that time. thanks. TheStrayDog (talk) 09:06, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... I found out that you and PersianGuyz were blocked at the same time. Also, I found out that PersianGuyz is also blocked at Persian Wikipedia. Explain yourself. --George Ho (talk) 11:51, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@George Ho: Mmmmm...Of course I explain it. So Persian wiki is another case. In Persian wiki, yes, PersianGuyz was a suckppuppet, I accept that. And that's why how User:Elph (which is an active user in arwiki=admin and Persian wiki both) find out and accused me that PersianGuyz is a suck-puppet. But I said it was only in Persian Wikipedia and it wasn't bad in arwiki or others. So you can not block an account based on its act in "other wikis", he could? we know that the answer is always "not". He User:Elph only needed an "excuse", so he found it and illegally blocked my new account and old one in the same time! Do not foeget we don't investigate about an account here, we are investigating about Arabic wiki's adminship and situation which doesn't relate to another wiki. I'm confused now. So let me have a break. I'll catch you later George. :) TheStrayDog (talk)

If you are not pleased, why not ask the ombudsman commission then? I'll wash my hands away from your CU situation for now. --George Ho (talk) 22:53, 23 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@George Ho: Hello and Thank You George for your helps until now! You are so useful here! I really appreciate that, and I do believe if we didn't have you, we couldn't go so further like this. So first thing, I would answer your questions about "Iranian Revolution" article in Arabic Wikipedia and some other Iranian-related articles there. I've read that article and I think it has some issues but is not so offensive. Also I can not understand Arabic so much, just a little bit, you better ask some neutral Arabic speakers. In Persian Wikipedia, it really doesn't relate to this RFC so much, but I would say it (Per-wiki version of Iranian Revolution) has some pro-Islamist and religious issues and it's not neutral enough. I will possibly make a RFC for pro-Islamist fanatical edits on Persian Wikipedia, after resolving this ongoing RFC. I know most of Persian wiki users are responsible enough to resolve the problems. But as you wish, feel free to do what you think is right. Happy editing TheStrayDog (talk) 15:34, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry to say this, and I didn't feel like bring it up at first. However, I found out about your past accounts, which were made last year. Earlier, I said that I'm washing my hands away from this. However, after finding out, I wasn't sure whether to confront you or not. Have you understood the Arabic language? If not, why continuing the RFC? Also, I'm concerned about your credibility. I still don't know why you are pursuing against Arabic Wikipedia for just its titling issues, but your claims have been rebutted. It's not that I don't trust you or anything like that. It's that... Maybe I'm having second thoughts about the RFC and reconsidering my participation there. You can rebut the established confirmations all you want, but... I'm close to being through with the RFC. Maybe this would affect the relationship between you and me, but I hope both of us are still cool at En.wp, right? --George Ho (talk) 05:14, 5 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@George Ho: Salutes! Dear George I don't even know why you are so much obsessive about my last accounts? while this RFC is not about me or my account. I all the time said and even you yourself have seen that my account in ar-wiki only did 20 edits and just thanked users in English in their talk page. I went and edited the Persian Gulf article in ar-wiki so pan-Arab and fanatic admins of Arabic wiki who call Persian Gulf as Arabian Gulf came and blocked me forever after ony 20 edits. That's the only conclusion on that matter. I didn't say I don't understand Arabic I said that my knowledge is basic. I can read the obvious objects in Arabic specially info-boxes or titles . But is that your problem? some user who supported these issues understand Arabic as a native guy and They supported and mentioned the other proofs and clues, but you seemed closed your eyes on those stuff. But still I'm always ready (and not afraid) for check-user. But this RFC is not about me and you mustn't prove my deeds, but ar-wiki admins'. It is meta-wiki and we solve inter-wiki problems here, as you know. I appreciate your helps on that RFC all the time and I will do it again and again. But as you wish if you don't want to contribute to that RFC I will accept your quit so that you don't need to bring me some excuses like that anymore. Feel free to quit anytime you want and no need to ask me for that. I will find anyone else to help us resolve this problems on Ar-wiki somehow. There is a lot of volunteers who are ready to help. You were useful and so much helpful by now and I appreciate it so much. Thanks and regards! TheStrayDog (talk) 23:35, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Venues in Persian Wikipedia[edit]

Umm... That CU matter aside, there is already Arbitration Committee in Persian Wikipedia. Meta RFC is unnecessary, isn't it? Why Meta RFC if there's already an ArbCom? Also, why not administrators' noticeboard or one of subpages of the village pump? --George Ho (talk) 16:20, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@George Ho: Good idea! I agree with you. TheStrayDog (talk) 17:09, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Queering Wikipedia 2023 conference[edit]

Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group and the organizing team of Queering Wikipedia is delivering the Queering Wikipedia 2023 Conference for LGBT+ Wikimedians and allies, as a hybrid, bilingual and trans-local event. It is online on 12, 14 and 17 May, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia #IDAHOBIT, with offline events at around 10 locations on 5 continents in the 5-day span as QW2023 Nodes.

The online program is delivered as a series of keynotes, panels, presentations, workshops, lightning talks and creative interventions, starting on Friday noon (UTC) with the first keynote of Dr Nishant Shah entitled: I spy, with my little AI — Wikiway as a means to disrupt the ‘dirty queer’ impulses of emergent AI platforms. Second keynote is at Sunday’s closure by Esra’a Al Shafei, Wikimedia Foundation’s Board of Trustees vice chair, entitled: Digital Public Spaces for Queer Communities.

If you have been an active Wikimedian or enthusiast, supporting LGBT+ activities or if you identify as part of the larger LGBT+ community and allies in Wikimedia, please join us in advancing this thematic work. We encourage you to join online or in person with fellow Wikimedians if it is easy and safe to do so. Our working languages are English and Spanish, with possible local language support at sites of Nodes.

Registration for the online event is free and is open until Wednesday May 10th at 18:00 UTC, for safety protocol. Late event registration approval and event access denial is at the discretion of organizers.

More information, and registration details, may be found on Meta at QW2023
