Wikifunctions Beta

Hey Sammy, I have a small request. Would you be willing to give me sysop at https://wikifunctions.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/Special:UserRights/Bunnypranav. Wanna test how deletion works, so would appreciate that. I currently have functioneer in the production cluster so I believe I can be trusted with this. Thanks in advance! ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 16:13, 27 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Need a bit of help/guidence

Hey again
I’m trying to assemble a node.js server? (I’m out of my comfort zone times 2) for a proxy that converts non cors api responses to cors responses and i have hit my 100th roadblock that I can’t seem to get around. I have no clue what’s wrong. https://gitlab.wikimedia.org/toolforge-repos/wikivirus-api-proxy Cause www/js exists but shell says it doesnt. I’ve run dir and tree which show www/js exists. I’m completely out of ideas Cyberwolf (talk) 19:11, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

I'm assuming you're trying to run this on toolforge (if so, which tool)? Have you taken a look at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Node.js ? I can take a bit more of an in-depth look in a moment — TheresNoTime (talk • they/them) 19:27, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah (my tool I guess) i also have looked through node.js several times Cyberwolf (talk) 19:29, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Having a closer look, running a node.js application on toolforge requires a fairly specific directory layout — where it says $HOME/www/js this means ~/www/js instead of where you currently have things (~/wikivirus-api-proxy/www/js). Give this a go: SSH into toolforge, become wikivirus-api-proxy, and then create a directory named www (and in that, create a directory named js) — that directory is where things like package.json/server.js needs to go. If/when you've got that working, then you could potentially symlink (more info).
That aside, what exactly are you trying to do with this tool? :) — TheresNoTime (talk • they/them) 19:47, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
PS. https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/P75650 might make more sense for the layout/content expected, after which you should be able to run toolforge webservice node18 start and it'll (hopefully) work! — TheresNoTime (talk • they/them) 19:56, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Cool it works thank you (now i need to figure out how to operate this) Cyberwolf (talk) 22:31, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
This will probably be universal but its for my experiment turned project turned nightmare which is basically run spam links through VirusTotal Cyberwolf (talk) 20:44, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
https://wikivirus-api-proxy.toolforge.org/demo.html Yay at least this works but still have to figure out cors anywhere thanks for your help :3 Cyberwolf (talk) 14:23, 30 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Well

its probably farewell i feel i have been beaten up pretty bad and my time (at Wikipedia and etc at least) has probably come to an end i thank you for being the one i could talk to See you later if not you have a good life, a better one than mine. Peace :3 Cyberwolf (talk) 12:49, 1 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Even when things look pretty bleak and like there's no way forward, often a bit of time to reflect and take a break really helps (especially on Wikipedia) — feel free to reach out if you need to chat or if there's possibly anything I can do to help. — TheresNoTime (talk • they/them) 12:59, 1 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
After taking a bit of time off to relax and get out of my morning severe depression. I’m just confused I don’t want to be hostile I don’t wanna accuse. But this is extremely out there on the not here policy. It’s a problem for me id rather speak to my killer before im shot than just get shot. Im angry that I got “shot” before i could explain and possibly resolve this with no block. But other wikipedians trample me over my grave telling me im trolling. Which i wasn’t. AGF doesn’t exist anymore and i feel there is no recovery from this simple mistake. Cyberwolf (talk) 14:59, 1 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hey my anxiety spiking again i want to be left alone and without any worries that my ban will get more long and be described As a threat to Wikipedia which bothers me- Cyberwolf (talk) 23:20, 1 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah.. Cyberwolf (talk) 14:01, 1 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
It rubs me wrong how busterd can say that about me Cyberwolf (talk) 18:44, 2 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Well i guess im done done

They said they revoked tap for my safety which I can’t believe people anymore i thank you and I don’t think any admin will grant me mercy ever people just don’t like me im i want to change i have changed i think this block was unfounded. It’s how my life is now Cyberwolf (talk) 20:18, 8 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry this all happened, and I can empathise with how shit everything can feel in moments like this, but I also find myself agreeing with the actions taken on the English Wikipedia. You need time away from that stressful situation, and you might want to consider speaking to someone trusted about how you're feeling (the mental health resources page could be helpful in finding an outlet too). I am not able to provide that sort of support. I do genuinely and wholeheartedly wish you well, and still believe that given time you'll be able to resume editing. — TheresNoTime (talk • they/them) 11:15, 9 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
If i appeal in vrt say in June will i be denied since they can claim I’m not “sane” with zero due process or that I don’t have a solid plan to edit certain pages and therefore have 0 evidence that ill improve and if i get unblocked will I be treated differently and given less rope on other unrelated mistakes? I just don’t wanna come back if I’m going to be presented with resistance Cyberwolf (talk) 11:04, 12 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Question

I was denied on otrs even though i have recovered and am no longer a “threat to Wikipedia” (ill still stand strong that i was never and never will be a threat) i addressed my problematic behavior (I’ve even proven myself on commons) and they told me I can’t appeal until July (if i do i get banned from utrs) but at this point none of this makes sense. I wont do it again and there is no valid reason for a block. I want to get this reviewed by a party that is not an admin since for some reason it goes to “you are appealing too early”. I just want to edit Motorsport articles and such. I’ve already been put through enough where any reasonable person would stop Cyberwolf (talk) 15:28, 30 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Like is the only way to prove im happy and in a good state of mind do i have to divulge everything from relationships to med changes. I frankly don’t want to divulge info. They left me no room anywhere. Cyberwolf (talk) 05:13, 31 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
