I'm letting you know in advance about a meeting I'd like to invite you to regarding the Universal Code of Conduct and the community's ownership of its future enforcement. I'm still in the process of putting together the details, but I wanted to share the date with you: 10 July, 2021. I do not have a time on this date yet, but I will let you soon. [Small wiki toolkits] Upcoming "How to maintain bots" workshop on Thursday, August 18th, 15:00 UTC

Hello, The sixth workshop on the topic of "How to maintain bots" is coming up - it will take place on Thursday, August 18th at 15:00 UTC. You can find more details on the workshop and a link to join here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Small_wiki_toolkits/Workshops#How_to_maintain_bots. This session will focus on best practices for maintaining bots and tools in the Wikimedia ecosystem. It will cover a few practices that can help developers run a bot or a tool with help from others, such as picking a license, adding co-maintainers to the project, publishing source code, writing docs, and much more. To participate in this workshop, you would need basic familiarity with bots or tools development. You can add your discussion ideas in the etherpad doc linked from the workshops page. [Small wiki toolkits] Upcoming "How to interact with Wikidata via Pywikibot" workshop on Friday, October 7th, 16:00 UTC

Hello! The eighth workshop on the topic of "How to interact with Wikidata via Pywikibot" is coming up - it will take place on Friday, October 7th at 16:00 UTC. This workshop will summarize how to access and save information to Wikidata, including through page generators and queries*, using Pywikibot. It will also cover the Wikidata conventions about the bot editing, including the bot approvals process (*queries not included, please bring your own!). Together with Language Diversity Hub, the Capacity Exchange (CapX) team will host its first Translation Marathon dedicated to ensuring linguistic equity in access to this amazing tool aimed to connect Wikimedians.
