Please explain again[edit]

Hello, I am not a native speaker of English, and I do not understand your statements about opposing my application as a Steward. I did not apply to promote any language. And how can you say it is inappropriate to disclose my identity? What is the point with that? Thanks in advance for answering. Best regards, --Jfblanc (talk) 13:45, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

@Jfblanc First things first, the statement "I want to help more an bring my "lesser used language" perspective to the stewardry" is flawed and it should not be a reason why you are joining as a steward. Promoting an uncommonly-used language is of course benefiting the wide range network of Wikipedia and enabling more knowledge to be shared. I do not oppose this. However, "bringing this to stewardry" (I guess you mean bringing this to the steward management) is the problem. Running this election solely for adding voices of your language to the board of stewards isn't acceptable since this is not a competition for "language popularity" but for the quality of your adminship. Therefore you should never write this as a reason and make people feel that you are merely a person that promotes a language. You should focus more on your past experience and how would you improve WMF as a whole. Second, I can't help but feel awkward for someone to disclose their real-life identity in this election. Are you doing stuff not to help WMF but to promote yourself? Or are you trying to be more approachable or friendly? If you are running the election because of self-promotion then sorry that Wikipedia is not a place for you since we are working for our community but not for individual. If you are trying to be friendly to gain more votes, remember that THIS IS NOT POLITICS. You are not here to befriend someone and lure their votes. If you simply want to show kindness, why not do it in your normal editing and assume good faith? I hope that you can think thoroughly about why are you running for this election but don't be upset. Try to gain more relevant experience, give us a better reason why we should vote for you and try again next time. You can do it! Good luck! Happy editing :). --WikiAviator (talk) 02:54, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
