VIVA-VVIT Edit-a-thon

This is the first ever formal full-scale Wikipedia edit-a-thon on the campus of VVIT. It served as the boot-camp to form the club. The edit-a-thon has been conducted for Telugu and English Wikipedias along with introduction to Wikimedia Commons. The edit-a-thon was conducted in two phases i.e. on 23 August 2017 and 1 September 2017. The session(s) were mentored Krishna Chaitanya Velaga, Suyash Dwivedi, Rahamanuddin and Pavan Santosh. Edit-a-thon witnessed around 80 participants with both Telugu and English sessions combined.

Wikimedia 2030 Movement Strategy Salon

On 27 August 2017, Wikimedia India conducted a movement strategy salon in Vijayawada titled "Wikimedia 2030 Movement Strategy Salon" from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm including a tea break and lunch. The participants ranged from diverse communities as listed in the further sections. The salon was coordinated by Krishna Chaitanya Velaga, Member of the Executive Committee, Wikimedia India. Newly trained users from the college–User:Koushik Avula, User:Saisumanth Javvaji, and User:SuswethaK, participated in the event.

WLM 2017 India Vijayawada Photo-walk

The photo-walk was conducted on 2 September 2017 with 6 participants who toured and photographed various monuments and tourist attractions in the city of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. The places covered are Undavalli Caves, Dhyana Buddha Statue, ASI Museum Amaravathi, Moghalrajpuram Caves, HrinkaaraTeerth, Kondapalli Killa, Bhavani Island, Gandhi Hill, Lenin Statue, Bapu Museum, Prakasam Barrage. All the images from the Photo-walk may seen at this commons category. Of the six participants, apart from organizer, four members of the club participated in the walk.

VVIT Edit-a-thon Part 2

This edit-a-thon was primarily conducted to recruit more editors from the college, and to serve as a follow-up to VIVA-VVIT Edit-a-thon conducted in August & September 2017. The whole thing was basically done to form a club in college. The participants were introduced to English Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, in two different sessions, the first one was conducted on 23 November 2017, and the second one on 25 November 2017. The sessions were mentored by Krishna Chaitanya Velaga and Yohann Thomas. The event witnessed 33 participants.

Wikidata Edit-a-thon

As a part of IMLD-ODD 2018 Wikidata India Edit-a-thon, the first ever training session on Wikidata was conducted on 17 February 2018. The event witnessed 30 participants, with a mix of both existing Wikipedians and complete newbies to Wikimedia. Post-event, several users participated in the national campaign, and Muppavarapu Navya, Saisumanth Javvaji & SuswethaK, were recognized as top contributors.

Coordinators Training

On 22–24 April 2018, a training has been conducted for the first batch of the coordinators of the club, users—Muppavarapu Navya, Nivas Ramisetty, Saisumanth Javvaji & SuswethaK. During the training, the coordinators were introduced to various aspects of organizing edit-a-thons, outreach activities, handling funds, maintaining the club etc.
