VVIT WikiConnect/Activities/Wikidata Training Program/2019
Wikidata Training Program is an on-going training program on Wikidata. Shifting from the model of the regular workshop, which generally introduces all the concepts in one go, in this program twenty to twenty five participants will be trained for three months on various aspects of Wikidata in three offline and three online sessions. Sessions will be scheduled such that there is sufficient time for the trainees to work on the topics from the previous session.

Assignments[edit]
Participants were given assignments after sessions. The intention of assignments is to let them know and understand what they learn from the sessions.
Assignment 1[edit]
Participants were given assignment on p and q values after first session. We sent them a mail containing a excel sheet with their user name as a section. Under the section of each user they were given with few tasks to find P value if property is given or to find a property if P value is given and same in the case of item numbers and Q values. The links to the assignments submitted by the users is given below.
Assignment 2[edit]
Participants were given an assignment on labels. The assignment was given during the time of independence day event and the participants created around 10,000 labels. The assignment was given under the section Wikidata Offline Session 2 on the Etherpad. The participants were given with a query of Wikidata items which do not have labels in Telugu language. This was given to the participants to revise their learning from offline session 1.
Assignment 3[edit]
Based on the interest of participants we conducted an online session explaining references. After the online session assignment 3 is given on references naming the task as Reference Hunt. The participants should classify the references into primary, secondary, tertiary sources and explain the reason for the source. Participants have to submit a document about the list of references they gathered and on what basis they classified the reference. Assignment submitted by few users are given below.
