What is your view on the development of our affiliation? * Establish protocols and rules for the group, based on transparency and collaboration.
    • Define members' roles, mechanisms for resolving internal conflicts, and methods for determining demands and priorities that encompass issues relevant to libraries from different world regions. Consider input from the broader community, not limited to committee members.
    • Establish protocols for renewing group leadership, ensuring its growth, and ensuring that issues pertinent to libraries in general are well represented.
    • Establish protocols for effective communication with group participants (those subscribed to the member list) so that they can be engaged and have a voice (message lists, assemblies to discuss action plans, voting on processes and actions, Slack group);
  • After reviewing the group's protocols, collaboratively outline an annual action plan. Possible focus areas include:
    • building relationships with globally impactful librarian associations, aiming for the group’s recognition, and establishing institutional pathways for continuous education and engagement of libraries in the Wikimedia movement. In this regard, dialogue with regional chapters would be strategic.
    • Using a thematic approach, promote initiatives to engage the library community in Wikimedia projects. For instance, the Brazil case in the EveryBookItsReader campaign, in which two librarians partner with the local affiliate to develop in-person activities in libraries nationwide. The initiative achieved significant results over its three years of implementation.
    • Develop educational and promotional materials for Wikidata and Wikibase, focusing on issues relevant to libraries (authority databases, rare collections, scientific production);
    • Establish a collaborative learning and exchange network among librarians (e.g., Let’s Connect).
