WLUG SC 2025 candidate Ngozi osadebe

I speak English at a very high proficiency level

I am from the West African Sub-region. I live and work in that region (West African Sub-region). However, I have been to Malaysia, United States of America (USA), UK (Ireland), Kenya and Ghana on conference visits.

I edit Wikipedia, Wiki common and Wiki data. I edit in English Language.

I am involved in Arts and Feminism; and Nigerian Wikimedia User Group (WUGN). I am an event organizer in the two affiliates.

I am a Professor of Library and Information science. I joined the services of Nnamdi Azikiwe Library, University of Nigeria Nsukka in 2001. In 2022, I got a parallel appointment to the Department of Library and Information Science of the same University. I have served in all sections of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Library. this includes Reference, Circulation, Serials, Cataloguing, Special Needs Library (Physically challenged section) and Special collection.

I joined the Wikimedia movement in 2017 as an event organizer. Since then, I organized annual edit-a-thon of Nnamdi Azikiwe Library and later Surplus people in the Universities Research group edit-a-thon. I was also the organizer of the "Let's make Wikipedia edit-a-thon inclusive" campaign. I was part of the first cohort of Organizer lab.

The Wikimedia and Libraries User Group is ripe to be achieved. Gradually, many librarians are joining the Wikimedia movement. There is a need for a unifying organization for all librarians in the movement. |
