Spring cleaning of Wikimedia Commons[edit]
Wikimedia Serbia has started a campaign of file improvement on Wikimedia Commons, especially the editing and improvement of the images that were uploaded withing the GLAM projects, Photo contests and other projects of the community. The goal of this campaign is to increase the file usage throughout wiki projects, as well as proper image categorization, file description, and illustration of articles on Wikipedia.
The action began with a Practical Workshop, comprised of a lecture about Wikimedia Commons, as well as the fundamentals of Copyright when it comes to this and other wiki platforms. After that, participants will have the opportunity to edit photos and other files on Commons within a month. Upon completion of the action, and within the local conference WikiLive, we will announce the results and reward the participants with the most contributions.
Campaign date[edit]
Start date: March 15, 2019 at 00:00 (CET)
End date: April 15, 2019 at 23:59 (CET)
During the campaign you can make an unlimited number of changes, but the changes made before March 15, 2019 and after April 15, 2019 will not be counted as contributions in this action.
Rules of participation[edit]
- You can become a participant of the campaign by subscribing on the project page (in the table below)
- If you want to compete, you should edit the files from the given categories (in tables below). Editing other photos on Commons is supported and encouraged, but they will not be counted as contributons to this campaign.
- Participants count and record their own points in the table on the page (below) according to the following propositions:

- Best newcomer - a voucher for purchasing books in the value of 1000 RSD
- The biggest number of images used - a voucher for purchasing books in the value of 1000 RSD
Note: In case of winning, participants are not able to use the awards outside Serbia. But everyone from abroad participating in this campaign will get a postcard made up of some of the photos that were edited in this campaign. :)
