Art+Feminism Philippines 2025
[edit]

In this year, Art+Feminism's campaign theme is centered on, What would a truly feminist internet look like?. We seek to have a safe and feminist internet for marginalized voices; the Wiki Advocates Philippines have responded to this call for action in different ways. In the Philippines, the internet mirrors the country's social biases and inequalities, especially for women, and is highly observable on social media posts where everyone can freely share their opinions. In order to create a digital space that promotes gender equality, social justice, and human rights, we have prioritized three things: highlighting the relevance of women in cultural heritage, featuring the silent struggles and triumphs of housewives in their homes, and, more importantly, training the youth on how to effectively navigate the digital landscape and making it a safe space for everyone.
The knowledge shared online today will shape the narratives that are registered, accessed, and remembered in the future. We, as Wikimedians, contribute a lot in documenting their stories and sharing our digital expertise, providing support for marginalized groups online and representing them either through creating articles or uploading photos of them in Wikimedia Commons. We define tomorrow's digital landscape by having these marginalized groups' voices be heard through our work as organizers and editors.
As we move forward, we invite you to take part in this call for action.
