Title: Ingesting data in Wikidata

Abstract:

This tutorial will introduce the Source MetaData tools for creating and editing Wikidata items about journal articles before moving on to demonstrate how OpenRefine can be used to add an affiliation statement to the authors created by SourceMD. The OpenRefine tutorial has four parts:

1. Import and clean data
2. Reconciliation
3. Extend data
4. Uploading to Wikidata.

Simon Cobb is a librarian at the University of Leeds Library and Wikidata Visiting Scholar at the National Library of Wales. He is currently working on a project to add 250,000 National Library of Wales catalog records to Wikidata.
