WikiClub Tech MUJ

WikiClub Tech MUJ is the official Wikimedia technical and open-source community at Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ), India. Established in 2025, the club brings together students, developers and researchers to contribute to the Wikimedia Movement through technology, outreach and open knowledge initiatives.

WikiClub Tech MUJ is a collaborative hub for open innovation, learning, and contribution. We empower students to explore open-source technologies, contribute to Wikimedia projects, and make knowledge accessible to all.

Mission

  • Promote free and open knowledge through Wikimedia and open-source initiatives.
  • Build student expertise in software development, AI, data and MediaWiki technologies.
  • Enable mentorship, internships and real-world project experience for MUJ students.
  • Foster community outreach that connects technology with social impact.

What We Do

  • Workshops & Learning — MediaWiki onboarding, editing, and development sessions.
  • Technical Projects — tools, bots, and Toolforge/MediaWiki contributions.
  • Outreach & Awareness — edit-a-thons, awareness drives and social impact visits.
  • Collaborations — working with MUJ departments, student cells, and industry partners.
  • Hackathons & Innovation — events connecting students with internships and industry mentors.

  • Road to Wiki (Flagship) — cohort-based mentorship (2–3 months) guiding selected students to contribute to Wikimedia open-source projects and gain verified certificates, internships and mentorship.
  • Udaan: Engineers to Visionaries — a career-path & inspiration series featuring achievers who transitioned from engineering to public service and other non-traditional paths.
  • Empowering Women in Tech — technical webinars and mentorship programs to promote women’s participation and leadership in technology.
  • MHA — Mental Health Awareness (Campus outreach) — student wellness initiatives combining awareness, empathy and technology.
  • InnovateX 2.0 Hackathon — 6 November 2025 — Hackathon (Venus Tech LLC collaboration) with prototype prizes and internship opportunities.
  • InnovateX 2.0 Alumni Talk — 6 November 2025 — Alumni talk by Kunal Anand (Founder & CEO, Venus Tech LLC).
  • SSIC 2025 — 19 December 2025 — Research Conference in collaboration with Department of Information Technology.
  • Pixel to Product : Hackathon — 30 January 2026 — Hackathon conducted in collaboration with industry experts.
  • Turning Ideas into Real Products — 30 January 2026 — Expert talk with guidance on startup incubation.
