Abstract (maximum 500 words)

"A woman is like a tea bag: you cannot tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water." ~Nancy Reagan.

"Editor Survey", conducted in April 2011 by the wikimedia foundation shows that there are only 8.5% women editors against 91% male editors; 1-50 lifetime edits by females as compared to more than 10,000 edits by their male counterparts.

Various reasons can be attributed to this lower participation of the females towards such a contribution in Indian scenario. Some of them include gender-bias, Lack of women education, existing social structure and outlook towards women, orthodoxical mentality of our society towards women, etc. Furthermore in India, even a women doesn't support of the holistic development of the women society.

The problems are not superficial, hence the solution to them also cannot be superficial. Nevertheless, two major categories, in which women can be encouraged to be a greater part of this knowledge base development are listed below:-

1. Finding out Innovative ways to encourage women's participation towards editing in the existing socio-economoic circumstances. 2. Finding out Innovative ways to make the society aware of the women's potential. 3. Creating an easier platform (like an audio platform, assistance provided by the WikiCommunity, etc.) to create an article.

All the above solutions can be actualized only by a robust network of WikiCommunity, which may work collaboratively with various NGOs, will also result in the development of the entire country.
