ഇത് നാലാമത്തെ തവണയാണ് ദേശീയതലത്തിൽ വിക്കികോൺഫെറൻസ് ഇന്ത്യ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്. ഇന്ത്യയിലും ദക്ഷിണേഷ്യയിലും ഇൻഡിക് ഭാഷകളിൽ നടത്തുന്ന വിക്കിമീഡിയ പ്രൊജക്റ്റുകളെയും സന്നദ്ധപ്രവർത്തകരേയും സ്വതന്ത്ര വിജ്ഞാന പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളെയും ഏകോപിപ്പിക്കാനായാണ് ഈ സമ്മേളനം. 2026 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 4 മുതൽ 6 വരെ തിയ്യതികളിൽ കൊച്ചിയിൽ വെച്ചാണ് കോൺഫെറൻസ് നടക്കുന്നത്.

The theme for WCI 2026 is "Reimagining the Knowledge Commons" - Community Leadership in an Evolving Wikimedia Ecosystem. As we navigate an era of rapid technological shifts and evolving social landscapes, this theme invites the community to look beyond the traditional boundaries of a digital encyclopedia. Reimagining the commons means viewing our movement as a living ecosystem - one that must be resilient, inclusive, and forward-thinking.

ഓൺലൈൻ വിവരങ്ങളിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസം കുറയുകയും AI-സൃഷ്ടിച്ച ഉള്ളടക്കത്തിന്റെ ദ്രുതഗതിയിലുള്ള ഉയർച്ചയും നടക്കുന്ന ഈ കാലത്ത്, സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള, മനുഷ്യനിർമ്മിതമായ അറിവ് ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത് എന്നത്തേക്കാളും കൂടുതൽ നിർണായകമായിത്തീരുന്നു.

Moving beyond text-based knowledge to incorporate oral traditions, diverse media, and collaborative cultural documentation.
