Breakouts/Workshops

[edit]
  • Build a Better Disinformation template to better organize what Wikipedia knows and support knowledge communication. You can also help to improve the articles listed. (User:Mary Mark Ockerbloom)
  • WikiProject:Women's Health: Mapping and bridging the knowledge gaps and evaluating the credibility of content (etherpad for documentation). The tasks proposed under this theme are given below:
    • Wikipedia: Create/translate an article related to women's health misinformation (Article suggestions here)
    • Wikipedia: Create redirects for redlinked articles that probably exist in an alternate name (Article list)
    • Wikipedia: Rewrite the lead sections of articles, essentially summarizing them (you are welcome to seek help from GenAI, but DO VALIDATE THE CONTENT FOR ACCURACY) (Article suggestions)
    • Tool: Create a dynamic list for watching the quality of abortion articles by country. The existing list is static at present. Similarly, update the list with the corresponding Wikidata item.
    • Tool: Overlay the byte count of abortion by country articles on the world map.
    • Maintenance: Assess the importance levels of women's health articles from this list.
    • Wikipedia/Commons: Image credibility: Are the images given on articles in these templates representative, educational, appropriate, and recent? Please discuss and note down your thoughts here.
    • Wikidata: Model and upload maternal mortality ratio for countries of the world (data from WHO here)
    • Wikimedia Commons/Science GLAM: Move images from Textbook of Obstetrics here and Flickrstream here. Commons category with a few images from the collection here.
  • Editing Wikipedia is not a crime! Community responses to government-level hostility to Wikipedia's values, including freedom of information, fact-checking, maintaining institutional partnerships, and the right to join conversations with others. Let's discuss protecting ourselves. Bluerasberry (talk) 23:25, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Search tools - looking for search tools beyond Google Custom Search Engines that return a higher percentage of reliable sources. (User:Superb Owl)
