You can organize a number of events around the campaign theme ‘’Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now’’ that explores the rights that are critical right now in your community. You can explore this from a climate and sustainability lens, and organize activities from May-July or through a human rights lens with activities from August-December. For example, you might want to explore rights to education, housing, or even the human rights dimensions of displacement and humanitarian protection. While local movements protecting land, water, and ecosystems, or environmental laws, or how mining, logging, or industrial agriculture impact local ecosystems, might be interesting areas for climate and sustainability focus.

And if the Knowledge For a Sustainable Future theme feels more natural for you, you can organize events in any of the two cycles using this this guide to identify sub-themes relevant in your region that are critical for the future. These activities can include:

Use the event registration tool for your event! This helps you promote your event on the Collaboration list, while making on-wiki registration effortless. Once registration is enabled, participants can register for the event by simply clicking the “Register” button. Whether you are running a single event, multiple events, or an event spanning more than 1 month, the event registration tool caters to your needs. You can adopt multiple registrations for your local activities if your event include one or all of the following:
- Local campaign featuring launch webinar, closing session, and capacity buildings
- Local campaign happening in more than one affiliated community or network of a particular Wikimedia community e.g. WikiForHumanRights 2025 in Nigeria happening in Anambra, Imo, Osun, Rivers, and Kogi states See here, for example.
- Local campaign spanning more than 1 month during the campaign cycle eg. WikiForHumanRights 2025 in Brazil with editathons in June and July. See here, for example.
