WikiForHumanRights 2025 in Nigeria

Overview
[edit]In 2024, we successfully collaborated with seven Wikimedia communities across Nigeria for the WikiForHumanRights campaign. The initiative, which was a significant success, focused on enhancing understanding and raising awareness of critical human rights issues related to sustainability in Nigeria, thereby creating awareness around critical human rights issues connected to sustainability while fostering unity, inclusivity, and localized knowledge sharing within the Wikimedia movement in Nigeria. Building on the momentum and impact of last year’s collaboration, we aim to work together again this year—on an even larger scale—to make the campaign more impactful and far-reaching
In 2025, we aim to deepen the impact of our work by recruiting more new contributors, building local capacity, translating key environmental and human rights topics into local languages, and strengthening partnerships with civil society organizations, environmental institutions, academic bodies, and local governments.
