8 March:
The WikiGap Challenge 2022 is officially launched!

30 March:
We are in our last days of March, and there's a lot of exciting involvement! 35 participants have signed up, welcome all of you. There are still many Women environmentalists to cover. And – this month we prolong the challenge to 8 May. Keep on going! Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 15:35, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

4 April:
Many new contributions over the weekend – and a few new participants! Welcome all who have joined, and thanks for all new contributions. Tuga1143 is currently in a tight lead, before Дми88 and Андрій Гриценко. But there's still a lot of time for change. Don't forget that the Women environmentalists yield bonus points! Happy to see all the progress being made, almost halfway into the contest! These last few days, we have lots of action reported from for example Mohammad Murtaza Zaidi and Lxlalexlxl. I look forward to following the progress of all of you contestants, working to close the gender gap! Josefine Hellroth Larsson (WMSE) (talk) 14:04, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The challenge goes on! Great to see so much activity. Several of the contestants in Ukrainian are rushing hard. Good work, and hope you are all safe. Tuga1143 is however still in the lead – will that change during the upcoming days?

Josefine Hellroth Larsson (WMSE) and I are also going to update the prizes page and add some nice prizes! Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 13:52, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

26 April

So happy to see the multitude of languages this year! Entries in Swahili, Hindi, Dutch, Ukrainian, and many more, shows the need to close the gender gap in all the different Wikipedia versions out there. Will we see any new languages before the contest comes to a close? Fingers crossed! Josefine Hellroth Larsson (WMSE) (talk) 07:27, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

3 May

It's the last week of the WikiGap Challenge! We see that Tuga1143 is keeping up their narrow lead, chased by Андрій Гриценко. Will these positions change during the last few days of the challenge? We're eager to see the what will happen during these last few days. And it's not too late to join the challenge yet – after all, what matters is that we work towards closing the gender gap on Wikipedia. Who will you invite to compete?
