Project descriptionWikiGraphics would be a project solely focused around infographics. The idea of showing statistics and information through graphics is something that I personally have always been interested in. The way it would work is graphics would be created as SVGs, which could be downloaded by others and modified, although that might be a little rough around the edges, I've mentioned below about an extension of some sort to allow creating and editing infographics onwiki. I don't think there's a lot to explain here, but if you have any questions, just let me know in the discussion area. Zippybonzo (talk) 11:26, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is it a multilingual wiki? One multilingual wiki, with the Translate extension.
Potential number of languagesIs the project going to be in one language or in many?
Technical requirements
New features to requirePotentially, however not something I would suggest in concrete as I'm not sure about the technical ability to create it, is a way to edit and create infographics from on the wiki, and then link to WikiData to allow them to update in realtime from Wikidata.
Additional project settingsFurther comments on the settings? for example; Will images and files be able to be uploaded to the project?

  1. Oppose Oppose. Totally unnecessary, Wikimedia already exists to create graphics there. PastelKos (talk) 12:26, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose Oppose per above – Wikimedia Commons is for graphics and there doesn't need to be a separate project for that, this can be done via categories like c:Category:Data graphics (contributors needed; also see the help/meta pages there) and Wikipedia:WikiProject Data Visualization (participants & equivalents in other languages needed). Moreover, "graphics" is much broader than infographics or data visualization. --Prototyperspective (talk) 12:59, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
