Roadmap for organizers

[edit]

If you’d like to organize an activity as part of the Wiki Loves Pride 2025 event, please follow the step-by-step guidelines below. Join us in this global campaign and help write us in!

Steps for activity organizers

[edit]

1 Announce your activity

[edit]

Report the activity you're organizing on the Meta page and on your idiomatic Wikipedia contest page.

2 Promote your activity

[edit]

Use these graphic designs to create posters. When promoting the activity, use the hashtag #WikiLovesPride and tag WMLGBT+. Our social media channels are:

If you are having an in-person activity, please consider printing some Wiki Loves Pride stickers for participants!

3 Set up a Dashboard

[edit]

Create a Dashboard for your activity and connect it with the main campaign Dashboard. This Dashboard is a campaign Dashboard, and you can connect your activity Dashboard to it. The name is "Campaign Dashboard Wiki Loves Pride".

If your activity is connected to the main campaign Dashboard, you don't need to report the metrics separately. It is mandatory for organizers to clean their dashboard, and track articles related to Wiki Loves Pride campaign only.

4 Report your activity's metrics

[edit]

If you do not use a Dashboard, you must report your activity's metrics to: community(_AT_)wmlgbt(_DOT_)org once the event ends.

Steps for Campaign Organizers

[edit]

The Wiki Loves Pride campaign is coordinated on Meta to track actions across different language Wikipedias and other Wikimedia projects.

If you want to organize the campaign on your own language's Wikipedia or another Wikimedia project you participate in, please follow these steps:

1 Register your campaign edition

[edit]

Let us know at Event:Wiki Loves Pride/2025 that you're organizing a local edition of the campaign. First, verify that no one is already running the campaign in your idiomatic Wikipedia or chosen project. Examples: Wiki Loves Pride in Spanish, English and French.

2 Promote your language edition

[edit]

Use these graphic designs to create posters. When promoting the activity, use the hashtag #WikiLovesPride and tag WMLGBT+. Our social media channels are:

If you are having an in-person activity, please consider printing some Wiki Loves Pride stickers for participants!

3 Announce the contest on Wikimedia Commons

[edit]

On your local Wikipedia’s page for Wiki Loves Pride, let users know that this contest on Wikimedia Commons is open during Wiki Loves Pride 2025 campaign.

[edit]

Whether online or in-person, any activities held as part of the campaign (by you or others) should be listed on the WLP event page. The section is called "Activities".

5 Track campaign metrics

[edit]

Keep track of: participants, number of new editors, number of active editors, number of Wikipedia articles created or improved, Wikidata items created or improved, and, files uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. We recommend using the Dashboard to track these metrics.

6 Create and connect your language's Dashboard

[edit]

Create a Dashboard for your language's Wiki Loves Pride campaign and connect it with the main campaign Dashboard. This is a campaign Dashboard, and you can connect your activity Dashboard to it. The name is "Campaign Dashboard Wiki Loves Pride".

If your activity is connected to the main campaign Dashboard, you don't need to report the metrics separately. It is mandatory for organizers to clean their dashboard, and track articles related to Wiki Loves Pride campaign only.

7 Report your results

[edit]

At the end of the campaign (during the first week of July), report your edition’s metrics (for example, if you organized the campaign in Portuguese) by sending the metrics to Wikimedia LGBT+ via: community(_AT_)wmlgbt(_DOT_)org
