WikiOutdoor Training (WOT) is the second edition of the capacity-building, outdoor-based programme aimed at strengthening leadership, organisational, and content-creation skills within Wikimedia communities, with a particular focus on the CEE and Central Asia regions. It follows the 2024 WikiOutdoor Training in North Macedonia and is developed in cooperation between Croatian (The Green Kitten, NGO) and Macedonian (Wikimedia GMSZ MKD Skopje) partners. The upcoming edition of WikiOutdoor Training will be held in eastern Croatia (Vukovar or Osijek tentative host cities). The programme is designed for experienced and emerging Wikimedia contributors who are interested in developing and implementing field-based Wikimedia projects.

Participants are trained to identify and contextualise underrepresented topics and communities, plan and execute outdoor documentation activities, navigate and interpret sites of cultural, historical, and natural significance, and produce high-quality photographs and multimedia content in line with Wikimedia standards. The training also emphasises effective use of reference sources, ethical documentation practices, and collaborative workflows for contributing content to Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, and related projects.

Building on previous editions, the programme will combine structured workshops with hands-on fieldwork and peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, fostering regional cooperation and sustainable leadership within Wikimedia communities.
