Wiki Afrodemics Mentorship Project was established in response to gaps identified in the quarterly update, which revealed little or no contributions from certain countries and regions. To address this, the community convened a meeting with its members, where it was agreed that an annual mentorship program should be launched. This initiative is designed to provide sustained guidance, training and resources which will equip participants with the knowledge and motivation to become active contributors to content on academics and scientists and their other areas of interest. The mentorship will prioritize participants from the red article zones from each of the six regions in Africa and female biographies so as to reduce the content and gender gaps on Wikipedia and Wikidata.
