Workshop on Feminism and Folklore 2026
Wikipedia speaks every language but not every woman's story has been told yet. Let's write ours.

About
[edit]From folk heroines to unsung artists Wiki Club SATI invites you to a day of writing, editing, and documenting the women who shaped our world but are missing from Wikipedia.
Participants will be introduced to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, with a focus on creating articles on women and understanding the role of feminism in folklore documentation. Participation in this workshop fosters the development of valuable skills like research, content writing, and digital literacy.
Attendees will:
- Learn the basics of Wikipedia editing and article creation from scratch.
- Gain insights into the gender content gap on Wikipedia and why it matters.
- Understand the connection between feminism and folklore and how to document it on Wikimedia projects.
- Learn how to upload images and media to Wikimedia Commons.
This event is open to all whether you are an experienced Wikimedian or a complete newcomer. No prior editing experience is required!
