Wiki Debates

🧠 Global Dialogue for Knowledge Equity 🗣️
[edit]Wiki Debate is a participatory, debate-style engagement initiative designed to foster civil, structured discourse among Wikimedia affiliates. The project offers a platform for affiliates to engage in thoughtful discussions on critical topics, including the future of the Wikimedia movement, knowledge production, internet freedom, equity, and cultural representation. Organized in "seasons," each edition of Wiki Debate brings together affiliates from diverse regions and perspectives to participate in moderated virtual debates. Through a series of sessions, teams conduct collaborative research, engage in structured argumentation, and present their positions before a neutral jury panel. Public voting also contributes to the overall outcome. By combining research, dialogue, and friendly competition, Wiki Debate encourages intellectual exchange and strengthens solidarity across the Wikimedia movement.
