Wiki Explores Purulia - Phase II

Purulia district

Wiki Explores Purulia - Phase II is a four day event to document the district of Purulia situated in West Bengal, India. The objective of this event is to do photo-documentation of the various heritage structures in the said area most of which have less or no presence in Wikimedia commons. We will also be revisiting some areas which we covered during Wiki Explores Purulia - Phase I in 2017 to see the changes in the built heritage of those places.

Goal

1. Photograph heritage sites around Raghunathpur, Manbazar, Baghmundi, Telkupi and other areas which also include revisiting some of the areas.
2. Upload media for the heritage structures of the aforesaid areas in Commons.
3. Create / Update articles about the heritage structures in Bengali and English Wikipedia
4. Create / Update items in Wikidata

• 25th March 2026 (Wednesday) - Reach Purulia town by Vande Bharat Express from Howrah. Overnight at Purulia town.
• 26th March 2026 (Thursday) - Explore built heritage around Podlara, Para, Ragunathpur. Overnight at Purulia town.
• 27th March 2026 (Friday) - Explore built heritage around Baghmundi and others. Overnight at Purulia town.
• 28th March 2026 (Saturday)- Explore built heritage around Manbazar and others. Overnight at Purulia
• 29th March 2026 (Sunday) - Explore built heritage around Banda, Telkupi and Garhpanchakot. Board Vande Bharat Express from Asansol and back to Howrah
