I would like to propose a site on which anyone could enter good—and possibly bad—deeds, as a way of recording our lives and others' lives. If one believes that God or Saint Peter will weigh the soul or look in a ledger at the time of judgment, then one can take solace in knowing that all one's good and bad deeds are recorded somewhere forever. Not all people can believe that, however, yet they would like to know that somewhere there is a record of what they've done with their lives. History books and biographies provide that for the famous. Wikipedia and its progeny may not last forever, but the online culture we are creating is as close to omniscience as we may ever get. Having a way to record and acknowledge what we as mortals have done with our lives would, I think, have important benefits for those who can't believe in certain notions of divine bookkeeping.
