Wiki Loves Broadcast Nigeria
Wiki Loves Broadcast Nigeria is a National Chapter of the global Wiki Loves Broadcast initiative by the Wikipedia community, aimed at fostering partnerships with public broadcasters in Nigeria. The goal is to enable the free use of educational and informative content from Nigerian broadcasters (such as NTA, FRCN, and state-owned stations) on Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, and other open-knowledge platforms.
Originally launched in 2016 by the German Wikipedia community with support from Wikimedia Deutschland, the project has expanded to Ghana and now seeks to engage Nigerian media houses and indigenous language communities.
Why This Matters for Nigeria

However, for such content to be used on Wikipedia, it must be under a free license (like CC BY-SA). Wiki Loves Broadcast Nigeria encourages broadcasters to: - Release selected content under open licenses (especially educational material). - Improve public access to archives for reference purposes. - Collaborate with Wikimedia volunteers to upload and integrate media into Wikipedia.
