Participants must come from any of the countries of the CEE region mentioned above.

  • Local criteria: Local organisers can prepare their own criteria for articles in their home language.
  • Size: Minimum size of the articles is 5000 bytes or 500 words, ensuring sufficient depth and coverage.
  • No Orphaned Articles: Articles must not be orphaned, meaning they should be linked from at least one other article to ensure visibility within the Wikipedia ecosystem.
  • No Copyright violations: There should be no copyright violations, and articles should adhere to local Wikipedia policies on notability, ensuring that the content meets the standards for notability.
  • Theme Relevance: Articles should directly address the theme of film, cinematography, audiovisual works, filmmakers, film history and theory or screen industry (cinemas, institutions, etc.).
  • Adequate references and Citations: Each article should include proper references and citations following local Wikipedia policies, ensuring the reliability and credibility of the information presented.

Photos

[edit]
  • Participants can upload photos, videos, audio or pdf files to Wikimedia Commons using a specific category.
  • Images and videos should have a decent quality related to the topic mentioned above.
  • All files related to the competition do not have any limitations regarding their age or source. If participants upload files, which are not their work, they are obliged to provide author or owner approval!
  • All files uploaded to Wikimedia Commons will be selected according to the contribution to the overall goal of this call and will be rewarded with special mention.

Awards

[edit]
  • Participants will be awarded non-monetary awards using a lottery system. First 3 users will be awarded.
  • Each country can offer a special award negotiated with local partners or following local criteria.
  • Special jury will award the global top 5 pages using wikirank tool (only new articles are included).
  • Photo contests could be opened on a local level and will be awarded accordingly.
  • Local organizers have the right to add a national special competition or award for selected articles according to their rules.
