Wiki Loves Mawlid in Sudan

Wiki Loves Mawlid in Sudan is an online contest to capture the Sudanese People celebration of the Mawlid of Prophet Mohammed. The Contest is aiming at documenting and sharing the diverse customs and traditions observed during the Mawlid in Sudan. The contest will likely run from September 1st to October 30, 2025, focusing on enhancing the representation of Mawlid traditions and Islamic heritage on Wikimedia platforms.

Rules

Content Creation Guidelines
  • Good Standing: Editors must not have any active blocks for disruptive behaviour on any Wikimedia project from the start date of the contest or during the contest period.
  • No Pre-Existing Entries: Editors cannot submit articles that they have worked on before the announcement of this contest. This should be a fresh contribution to Wikipedia.
  • Declaration of Conflicts of Interest: Editors with potential conflicts of interest must disclose them on the talk page of their submission and avoid editing any entries with an existing COI.
  • No Self-Promotion: Editors cannot participate in order to promote themselves or their own personal projects/works
Submission Instructions
  • All submissions must be categorized under a clearly defined category on the respective language version of Wikipedia. This category will be: Category:2025 Wiki Loves Mawlid Contributions (should be translated to your local language).
  • All entries must be submitted before 30 October2025, at 23:59 UTC.
