Wiki Loves Museums is an initiative to document and digitally preserve the rich cultural, historical, and scientific heritage showcased in museums across the world. Museums are important repositories of knowledge that safeguard artifacts, artworks, manuscripts, archaeological findings, and exhibits representing diverse traditions and histories.

This project aims to bridge that gap by systematically photographing museum collections and buildings, and by enriching them with metadata and structured data on Wikimedia Commons. The content created will support Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikivoyage, and other Wikimedia projects, ensuring the heritage is accessible to a global audience under free licenses.
