Wiki Loves Pride Ireland/2025
Wiki Loves Pride is an annual photography campaign that celebrates LGBTQIA+ culture, history, and communities around the world by adding images to Wikimedia Commons and related Wikimedia projects such as Wikipedia and Vicipéid.
This year, we invite participants in Ireland to capture and share photographs that represent queer life, past and present — from community events and parades to historical landmarks and everyday moments of queer joy, resistance, and belonging.
All submitted photos will be openly licensed and help to improve representation of LGBTQI+ topics across Wikimedia projects in both Irish and English.How to Participate?
[edit]If you do not have a user account for the Wikimedia projects, you can create one here.
It is possible to do this without including an email address. However, email addresses are needed for notifying winners, (and in case you forget your password!). Your email address will not be visible to other Wikipedia users.
We’re looking for photos that show the diversity and richness of LGBTQIA+ life in Ireland.
These can include:
- Pride events and community gatherings
- Monuments, memorials, and heritage sites
- Queer spaces, past and present
- Art, activism, and protest
- Everyday life, culture, and creativity
With this competition, we want to capture the vibrant and diverse LGBT+ community without compromising their comfort and safety. Please ensure that you respect the privacy and consent of individuals in your photographs.
If photographing events or people, always ask for permission. When taking photos in public places, be mindful of local regulations. If you want to take photos with a drone, know the local regulations and adhere to them.Learn how to upload to Commons here.
Photos can be uploaded for the competition from 1 June until 31 August 2025. It does not matter when the photos were taken! Make sure to tag your photos with the correct Category: Wiki Loves Pride 2025 in Ireland to enter the competition.#WikiLovesPride2025.
