Overview
[edit]Wiki Malagasy Language and Environment is a community initiative dedicated to promoting Malagasy languages and environmental knowledge through wiki-based platforms and open knowledge principles.
The initiative seeks to support linguistic diversity, environmental education, biodiversity awareness, and community participation in knowledge sharing across Madagascar.
Background and Motivation
[edit]Madagascar is internationally recognized for its unique biodiversity and rich linguistic heritage. However, environmental challenges such as deforestation, habitat loss, climate change, and limited access to environmental information continue to affect communities throughout the country.
At the same time, Malagasy languages remain underrepresented in digital knowledge spaces.
This initiative was created in response to:
