Wiki Naval Ayiti is an event that invites Wikimedians across the world, particularly from Haiti, to contribute to different projects of the Wikimedia Foundation, more specifically: Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons. It is an opportunity offered to fully discover Haiti's culture: its music, dances, painting, but also the difficulties and aspirations of the Haitian people.
It is worth noting that there is a lack of content on the Wikimedia platforms regarding the Carnival in Haiti which is a major national event. The event is organised as a contest, an invitation to contributors to take advantage of the Carnival period to take pictures, upload them to Commons, illustrate, create or edit articles on Wikipedia and create Wikidata sheets. It is also an opportunity to create content about Haitian folk art.
